I.  Introduction

I.1  Welcome to the Interactive Prayer System

The Interactive Prayer System (IPS) is an Internet delivered prayer system covering the entire world. IPS receives prayer request via the Internet and makes them available for intercessors and prayer warriors around the world via the Internet and e-mail.

All prayer requests can be broken down into regions from around the world and also into categorical topics like strategic areas of the Great Commission, Children, Witchcraft and the Occult, Terrorism, AIDS/HIV, Drugs, Catastrophes, and Hunger; and like health areas of Digestive System, Circulatory System, and Nervous System. Plus, there are inner issues, social and influential topics to choose from as well.

All prayer requests, prayers prayed, and praise reports are easily accessed through this system and can be personally customized to allow specified viewing.

III.1  Top Bar

Interactive Prayer System: Animagination

You need to log in.

On the left side of the top bar is the name of the particular board that you are currently on. IPS is a complete prayer system, that can be placed on many, many different websites all over the World Wide Web, including your own if you like. Simply login and click on the “Put this board on your website” link.

On the right side of the top bar will be one of two things. If you are not logged into the system, it will display, “You need to log in.” But if you have logged in, it will display, “Welcome <first name>, we pray that the Lord is blessing you today.” where <first name> will be replaced with your first name. This simple greeting will let you know that you are logged into the system and are welcomed.

Interactive Prayer System: Animagination

Welcome Richard, we pray that the Lord is blessing you today.

III.2  Upper-left Section

Inside the upper-left section are the navigation and display controls. With thousands of prayer requests that come into the system on a daily basis, a full listing would be overwhelming. So, to make it easier to manage, we only display prayer requests which have been posted in the last 30 days. With the remaining prayer requests, we break them into pages of 5 requests per page.

The upper half of the section is the page controls. The left arrow (ß) is for moving to a previous set of 5 prayer requests. The right arrow (à) is for moving to the next set of 5 prayer requests. Between the arrows is a box, which tells you which page you are currently displaying. You can type in the page number that you want and hit the switch button to change to that page at any time.
[TOP of Page]

III.2.a  Sort Prayers by Region

Below the page navigation is the current displaying region and category. Each Prayer Board has its own default setting, but you can easily change its setting by using the Sort Prayers button.

The Sort button is a series of cascading menus that allows you to pick which region and category that you wish to limit the system to display. We have broken down the whole world in regions based on state and country. Categories are also grouped in cascading menus. Here is a full list of categories.

 III.3  Search

Going beyond displaying only regions and categories, there is a powerful search tool that will allow you to get to the nitty-gritty. For example, let’s say you are interested in praying for people who have been associated with rape. You can type, “rape” into the search box and click submit. This will search all the requests that contain the word rape in the body of the message. You can use partial words as well, so “sec” brings up prayer requests with words like sects, secular, and persecution. This powerful search capability can really help you when you post prayer requests with keywords for easy searching.
[TOP of Page]

 III.4  Upper-Right Section

Inside the upper-right section are the main links for logging in and posting prayer requests or praise reports, and how you can spread the word about the Interactive Prayer System.
[TOP of Page]

III.4.a  Login / Modify my Account

The top link will be one of two things based on if you are logged as a member of the system of not. If you are not currently a member or if you have not logged in, then the first link will be “Click here to login or sign-up as a new user.” If you want to more than just display prayer requests and praise reports, you will need to log into the system. This link is just for that. Once you log in, this first link will be “Modify my Account information.” Use this link to make changes to your information. This will be discussed more in detail down below.
[TOP of Page]

III.4.b  Put this board on your website / Modify the look of your board

The second link on this right side deals with your personnel prayer board. It is our hope that this prayer system spread all over the internet, and the easiest way to do that is to put the IPS system on your website. If you have not yet added the system to your personal website, this link will display, “Put this board on your website.” There is more details on adding the Interactive Prayer System to your website and becoming a web-partner down below. Once you are an IPS web-partner, this link will display, “Modify the look of your personal website board (board name)” where the board name will be the name that you give your board, usually the same as your website. Discussions on how to modify your board will be further down.
[TOP of Page]

III.4.c  Posting a Prayer Request

The third link on this upper-right section is “Post a Prayer Request.” It does what the name implies. Use this link to post a prayer request onto the Interactive Prayer System.
[TOP of Page]

III.4.d  Posting a Praise Report

This system is not only for posting prayer request, but it is also used to celebrate prayers that are answered. The fourth link is “Post a Praise Report” Use this link to post something God has done and you want to share.

Attention: If the praise report is an answer to a prayer that you already posted into the system, then instead of using this link, pull up the original posted prayer request and click on “Post Answered Praise Report” on that specific request.
[TOP of Page]

III.4.e  Tell a Friend

We want you to share this prayer system with everyone you know. So to make sharing easy, just click this link, type in the e-mail address, and that’s it. It’s that simple.
[TOP of Page]

III.4.f  Switch to Displaying Praise Reports

As we mentioned in the posting, this prayer system is not just for prayer requests. It is also for praise reports. Switching between the prayer requests and the praise reports is as easy as clicking on this link. Everything else works the same way.
[TOP of Page]

III.4.g  Suggestion Board (FAQ)

The final link on the upper-right section is the suggestion board. If you have an idea or a suggestion you would like to give to the developers, just click on this link. You can read previous suggestions along with their reply from the development team.
[TOP of Page]

III.5  Prayer Requests

III.5.a  Left Side - Information

There are two sides to every prayer request. On the left side is information about the prayer request starting with the individual number. In our graphic it is number 52. Just underneath the number is the date and time when the request was posted. This is followed by the number of times this prayer request has been prayed for. There is a NEW link here, “Read prayers” which you can click on to display the prayers that have been prayed for this specific request. This link is only available if there are prayers prayed.

Underneath the prayed section is the user. It is the User’s ID that is displayed here, not any personal information. Region follows the User, which is followed by the Category. Both of these sections are links to change your display to only that region or category. The last piece of information tells you on which board this request was posted. This is a link as well that takes you to that board’s Internet address.
[TOP of Page]

III.5.b  Right Side - Request

The right side of a prayer request has the actual request along with a box on the upper right corner. In this box are either one or two links. The bottom link is always E-mail to a friend. Use this link to send this prayer request to everyone or anyone you think would be interested in the request. The top link could be one of three things.

The first one is “Pray for this request.” If this particular request touches you and you want to pray for it, click on this link and type in your prayer. It will be sent to the requestor and added to the prayers prayed list. Don’t worry no personal information will be displayed.

The second link is “Post Answered Praise Report.” This link will only be available to the one who posted the request. I really want to encourage everyone to use this link. Use this link to let everyone know that you have received the answer to your prayers. This is good for two reasons. First, it lets people know that there is no longer a need to pray, and second it is good to know that God is still answering prayers. Please use this link instead of just post a praise report, because this way, the praise report is tied to the request.

This brings us to the third possibility. “Read Answered Praise Report.” If the requestor posted an Answered Praise Report, then this link will appear. It will open the praise report associated with this request.
[TOP of Page]

III.6  Praise Reports

Praise reports are laid out similar to a prayer request. It is split into two sides. On the left is the same type of information as a prayer request, and on the right is the actual praise report. If the praise report is based on a prayer request, meaning the prayer requestor clicked on the “post answer praise report link”, then the praise report will put the original prayer request as part of the praise report. We see this in the graphic. The sort features and search engines work the same for praise reports just like for the prayer requests.
[TOP of Page]

III.7  Bottom Statistics

Below all prayer requests or praise reports is the bottom bar of statistics. This information tells you how big the Interactive Prayer System has spread. The first line is the total amount, it displays the same for everyone on the system. The next line is your personal statistics and it is only shown to you as the user who logged in.
[TOP of Page]

IV.  How Do I…?

IV.1  How do I Sign Up…

The top link in the upper-right section of the board is “Click here to login or sign-up as a new user.”

IV.1.a

Clicking on this link will open a new window for logging in. On this new window is a link “Sign-up and register for free.” Clicking on this link closes the current window and opens the sign-up window.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.b

There are several pieces of information that the system needs. The first thing the system needs is a user ID. This will be your login name or screen name. Every user-id needs to be unique and can only be applied once. This is also what gets displayed on screen to others, so you might not want it too personal.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.c

The next thing the system needs is a password.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.d

Now since passwords can sometimes be forgotten, the next two pieces of information are simply for getting your password. Type in a question that you yourself know, but something that others would not. It could be your Mother’s maiden name, or the name of your pet, followed by the answer. That way if you forget your password, the system will ask you this question, and when you put in your answer, it will then e-mail your password to you.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.e

Next is standard contact information, address and phone number. We do not give out this information, it will only be used internally. We know too well about Spam and nobody wants to be on any unwanted mailing lists.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.f

The next piece of information is your email address. This is an important piece as all of our contact for you will be via this email address. Just like your mailing address, this information is not given out.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.g

The next item is “Receive Prayer Requests via Email.” The Interactive Prayer System has a way to gather the prayer requests which meet your personally selected criteria and send them to you by email at regular intervals. This is a yes/no response.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.h

The next piece is the interval in which you would like to receive the gathered prayer requests. It can be daily, twice a week, once a week, every ten days, or once every two weeks. So depending on your schedule, you can pick what’s right for you.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.i

After filling in all the information just click on the submit button on the bottom of the form. This moves us to the next step.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.j

Assuming there are no errors, like user-id already used or something similar, then you come to selecting your region. This tells the system where your prayer requests are coming from. On the top of the screen are the name of continents, so for example if you live in Southern California, you would click on Americas. This moves you down the page. The next click would be “United States: Western Division”, then click the radio button in front of Southern California.
[TOP of Page]

IV.1.k

Once you selected your region, scroll to the top of the screen or click the top link, and push the Submit button. This completes your sign-up process. You are now a member, ready to go.
[TOP of Page]

IV.2  How do I Log in…

On the top of the upper-right section of the Interactive Prayer System, there is a link that reads, “Click here to login or sign-up as a new user.” Click on that link. A new window will open in the middle of your screen asking for your User ID and Password. Enter in the information and click on LOG-IN. That is all there is to it.
[TOP of Page]

IV.3  How do I get my password? I forgot it…

Sometime it happens, we forget our passwords. Thankfully, the Interactive Prayer System has a solution. Enter in your User ID and click the “Forgot Password” button. It will display your question, which you entered during your sign-up, on the screen. Type in your answer into the textbox and click the submit button. If you answer correctly you will receive an email to your provided email address giving you your password.
[TOP of Page]

IV.4  How do I post a prayer request…

Important rule of the Interactive Prayer System:

  • We consider all prayer requests extremely important. We are aware that it is sometimes a question of life and death, but we have to be considerate to all users. Therefore,
post prayer requests only once, the absolute maximum is 2 times. People, who “spam” the prayer board with countless requests will be removed from the system.

On the upper-right section of the Interactive Prayer System is a link that reads, “Post a Prayer Request.” Clicking on that link will open one of two possible windows. It will open the Login window if you have not already logged into the system. If this happens, login and click on the “Post Prayer Request” link again. The second window is the Post a Prayer Request window.
[TOP of Page]

IV.4.a  Choose Region of Prayer Request

The top part of the window displays your user ID along with your region. The default value in the region box will be your personal region, which you selected during the sign-up process: The only exception is when you have used the sort function on the board to display a certain region, in that case the default region in the prayer request will match your sort region.
[TOP of Page]

IV.4.b  Choose Category of Prayer Request

Below the Region is the Category. By default Category is set to general. The only exception is when you have used the sort function on the board to display a certain category, in that case the default category in the prayer request will match your sort category.

It is a very good idea to take the time to find the right category for your prayer request. These requests can be sorted by both Region and Category, and are emailed to our members and intercesoors based on sort criteria as well. If you don’t take the time to properly categorize your request, your request won’t come up for the people who are interested in praying for you. Picking your category is fairly simple as all the categories follow a tree structure. On top level are:

Outer Man

If you are requesting anything dealing with your physical body, you will find your category under Outer Man. These categories are sub divided by the ten major body systems. As well as appearance and other health related topics.

Inner Man

This group deals with your personal character, things like hatred, impatience, fear, anxiety, substance abuse, and anger.

Financial and Physical Needs

If your request is based on a Financial or Physical need like a car, or a job, or a place to stay, then look in these categories.

Social Life

This group is based on you dealing with another person. Whether they are in the family, at the job, or at school, you will find it here.

Influential

Major groups that influence others like Hollywood, News, Sports, Government, and music is covered in these categories.

Strategic

Strategic categories are categories that target the enemy’s work. You will find things like AIDS, drugs, terrorism, hunger, and witchcraft. You will also find the great commission or prayer for Israel in this group as well.

[TOP of Page]

IV.4.c  Type Prayer Request

Once you have selected your region and category, type in your request in the request text area. Try to be succinct and to the point. Give enough information to get your point across, but try not to be long winded. People in general do not want to spend the time to read the whole back-story. What you type in here will become public knowledge, so I recommend not giving your personal information.

Remember when people pray for this request, you will receive automatically an email to your supplied email address, so there is no need to put contact information. I would try to keep to a couple of sentences to a paragraph.

It is also a good idea to add a statement of faith. Matthew 18:19 says, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. By giving what you believe for, we can agree with you, and activate the power of God in agreement. For example:

We are in need of financial help. Please pray that the Lord helps me find a job soon as we have bills piling up.

Please pray for little Billy. He was in a car accident, which banged him up pretty bad. The doctor said that there might be brain damage, but we believe God’s word instead and declare he is totally healed.

Once you have completely filled in all the information, click the submit button and you are done.
[TOP of Page]

IV.5  How do I pray for a request…

Once you find a request of interest that you wish to pray for, the next step is to click the link “Pray for this request,” which is located on the far right side of that particular request. If that link is not there, then you are the one who posted the request, and the link will read, “Post Answered Praise Report” or the requestor posted the praise report for this request and there is no more need for prayer.
[TOP of Page]

IV.5.a  Click on “Pray for this request”

Once you click the “Pray for this request” link a new windows opens. Assuming you are logged in, it will be the Pray for a Request window, else you need to log in first and click the “Pray for this request” link again.
[TOP of Page]

IV.5.b  Writing your prayer

The top part of this new window is the prayer request information. You will find the number, user, region, category, post date and time, and the request itself. The lower part of this window is where you type in your prayer. This prayer will be emailed to the requestor, so it is always a good idea to give an encouraging word.

Since the power of God is in his Word, when you pray for a request find some scriptures which fit the situation. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” So as we send out God’s word, the sword of the spirit, it will accomplish and prosper in the thing whereto it was sent. Hopefully the requestor has made a statement of faith, which you can come in agreement with. Let the requesting member know that they are not alone, but we are standing with them in this time of need.

Just like posting a request, it is not a good idea to put personal information in the prayer, as it will be publicly displayed and people will be able to read the prayer you have prayed.

When you are finished, click the submit button and this prayer will be emailed to the requestor and the counter to the number of prayers prayed increased.
[TOP of Page]

IV.6  How do I display requests by region or category…

On the upper-left section is a button that reads, “Sort Prayers.” Clicking on that button will open a small pop-up window. Roll your mouse over the “Sort by Region” or “Sort by Category.” Once your mouse is over the text line, a new pop-up window will appear. Notice how there is a small triangle arrow pointing to the right. This indicates, that there is a sub-window pop up attached to that text line. Once your mouse is over the final text line, click your mouse on that text-line, and you have changed your display. If you have made a selection already, the last selection will appear bold.

The top pop-up has a line of text that reads, “Start Over.” This line will change both the region and category back to “*** All ***” .

IV.8  Which Categories can I choose from?

This information is found in Section III.2.b
[TOP of Page]

V.  PRAYER TIPS

V.1  Pray Locally

Commit either yourself or even better together with a group of intercessors to cover a certain area regularly in prayer - Example: You and two friends, commit to pray each day for 15 minutes for the area of US Ohio, you can enter prayer requests for this area, pray for all requests in this area and lift the people up with personalized messages, develop your area, make the Interactive Prayer System known in other churches and areas of your state, connect with Intercessors around you in your area and develop a plan who takes over which day, so that the whole month is covered in prayer, form a group and let us know how you are organized (info@hispowerportal.com), and connect with other prayer groups around the country.
[TOP of Page]

V.2  Pray Timely

Commit either yourself or even better together with a group of intercessors to cover prayer requests from a certain day, eg.: Mona prays for every prayer request posted on the 1st, George and Mary pray for every prayer request posted on the 2nd, and so on… You can also pray for the prayer requests at the end of the list, which will fall out the very next day- remember prayer requests are only stored for 30 days, on the 31st day they are automatically deleted- Pray therefore for the highest pages as they will fall out first.
[TOP of Page]

V.3  Pray Categories

Commit either yourself or even better together with a group of intercessors to cover prayer requests from a certain category, eg.: Ron prays for every prayer request posted for Great Commission, Linda and Beverly pray for every prayer request posted for work related issues, and so on… You can also pray for  prayer requests in a category and a certain region at the same time, e.g. Hans is praying for prayer requests in Sudan that have to do with Hunger, Molly prays for prayer requests from England in the category Witchcraft and Occult,….
[TOP of Page]

V.4  Pray with Holy Inspiration

Commit either yourself or even better together with a group of intercessors to cover prayer requests, which as you read them, the Holy Spirit seems to impress on you to pray for that person- Listen to the soft voice of the Holy Spirit and lift up and build and encourage by sharing the Good News.
[TOP of Page]

V.5  Pray using Scripture

Commit either yourself or even better together with a group of intercessors to cover the people who posted a request by encouraging them using the Word of God in your prayer- Tip: In order that you do not have to retype Scripture verses, use our online bible tool to search for the scripture you are looking for and copy and paste into your personalized message.
[TOP of Page]

V.6  Pray with your cell group

Commit either yourself or even better together with a group of intercessors to cover prayer requests which were posted either in your area or for a specific political situation in a country, print out the prayer requests from the Interactive Prayer Board and take it to your next Cell Group Meeting, be the one who takes the initiative- Mobilize Prayer!
[TOP of Page]
