Interactive Prayer System User's ManualTable of Contents
I. IntroductionI.1 Welcome to the Interactive Prayer SystemThe Interactive Prayer System (IPS) is an Internet
delivered prayer system covering the entire world. IPS receives prayer
request via the Internet and makes them available for intercessors and
prayer warriors around the world via the Internet and e-mail. All prayer requests can be broken down into regions
from around the world and also into categorical topics like strategic areas
of the Great Commission, Children, Witchcraft and the Occult, Terrorism,
AIDS/HIV, Drugs, Catastrophes, and Hunger; and like health areas of
Digestive System, Circulatory System, and Nervous System. Plus, there are
inner issues, social and influential topics to choose from as well. [TOP of Page] II. IPS GuidelinesII.1 Interactive Prayer System Guidelines
[TOP of Page] III. Screen LayoutIII.1 Top Bar
On the left side of the top bar is the name of the particular board that you are currently on. IPS is a complete prayer system, that can be placed on many, many different websites all over the World Wide Web, including your own if you like. Simply login and click on the “Put this board on your website” link. On the right side of the top bar will be one of two
things. If you are not logged into the system, it will display, “You need
to log in.” But if you have logged in, it will display, “Welcome
<first name>, we pray that the Lord is blessing you today.” where
<first name> will be replaced with your first name. This simple
greeting will let you know that you are logged into the system and are
welcomed.
[TOP of Page] III.2 Upper-left Section
The upper half of the section is the page controls. The
left arrow (ß) is for moving to a previous set of 5 prayer requests. The
right arrow (à) is for moving to the next set of 5 prayer requests. Between
the arrows is a box, which tells you which page you are currently
displaying. You can type in the page number that you want and hit the switch
button to change to that page at any time. III.2.a Sort Prayers by Region
Below the page navigation is the current displaying region and category. Each Prayer Board has its own default setting, but you can easily change its setting by using the Sort Prayers button.

III.4 Upper-Right Section
Inside the upper-right section are the main links for
logging in and posting prayer requests or praise reports, and how you can
spread the word about the Interactive Prayer System. III.4.a Login / Modify my AccountThe top link will be one of two things based on if you
are logged as a member of the system of not. If you are not currently a
member or if you have not logged in, then the first link will be “Click
here to login or sign-up as a new user.” If you want to more than just
display prayer requests and praise reports, you will need to log into the
system. This link is just for that. Once you log in, this first link will be
“Modify my Account information.” Use this link to make changes to your
information. This will be discussed more in detail down below. III.4.b Put this board on your website / Modify the look of your boardThe second link on this right side deals with your
personnel prayer board. It is our hope that this prayer system spread all
over the internet, and the easiest way to do that is to put the IPS system
on your website. If you have not yet added the system to your personal
website, this link will display, “Put this board on your website.” There
is more details on adding the Interactive Prayer System to your website and
becoming a web-partner down below. Once you are an IPS web-partner, this
link will display, “Modify the look of your personal website board (board
name)” where the board name will be the name that you give your board,
usually the same as your website. Discussions on how to modify your board
will be further down. III.4.c Posting a Prayer RequestThe third link on this upper-right section is “Post a
Prayer Request.” It does what the name implies. Use this link to post a
prayer request onto the Interactive Prayer System. III.4.d Posting a Praise Report
This system is not only for posting prayer request, but it is also used to celebrate prayers that are answered. The fourth link is “Post a Praise Report” Use this link to post something God has done and you want to share. Attention: If the praise report is an answer to a
prayer that you already posted into the system, then instead of using this
link, pull up the original posted prayer request and click on “Post
Answered Praise Report” on that specific request.
III.4.e Tell a Friend
We want you to share this prayer system with everyone
you know. So to make sharing easy, just click this link, type in the e-mail
address, and that’s it. It’s that simple. III.4.f Switch to Displaying Praise ReportsAs we mentioned in the posting, this prayer system is
not just for prayer requests. It is also for praise reports. Switching
between the prayer requests and the praise reports is as easy as clicking on
this link. Everything else works the same way. III.4.g Suggestion Board (FAQ)The final link on the upper-right section is the
suggestion board. If you have an idea or a suggestion you would like to give
to the developers, just click on this link. You can read previous
suggestions along with their reply from the development team. III.5 Prayer Requests
III.5.a Left Side - Information
There are two sides to every prayer request. On the left side is information about the prayer request starting with the individual number. In our graphic it is number 52. Just underneath the number is the date and time when the request was posted. This is followed by the number of times this prayer request has been prayed for. There is a NEW link here, “Read prayers” which you can click on to display the prayers that have been prayed for this specific request. This link is only available if there are prayers prayed. Underneath the prayed section is the user. It is the
User’s ID that is displayed here, not any personal information. Region
follows the User, which is followed by the Category. Both of these sections
are links to change your display to only that region or category. The last
piece of information tells you on which board this request was posted. This
is a link as well that takes you to that board’s Internet address. III.5.b Right Side - Request
The right side of a prayer request has the actual request along with a box on the upper right corner. In this box are either one or two links. The bottom link is always E-mail to a friend. Use this link to send this prayer request to everyone or anyone you think would be interested in the request. The top link could be one of three things.
III.6 Praise Reports
Praise reports are laid out similar to a prayer
request. It is split into two sides. On the left is the same type of
information as a prayer request, and on the right is the actual praise
report. If the praise report is based on a prayer request, meaning the
prayer requestor clicked on the “post answer praise report link”, then
the praise report will put the original prayer request as part of the praise
report. We see this in the graphic. The sort features and search engines
work the same for praise reports just like for the prayer requests. III.7 Bottom Statistics
Below all prayer requests or praise reports is the
bottom bar of statistics. This information tells you how big the Interactive
Prayer System has spread. The first line is the total amount, it displays
the same for everyone on the system. The next line is your personal
statistics and it is only shown to you as the user who logged in. IV. How Do I…?IV.1 How do I Sign Up…The top link in the upper-right section of the board is “Click here to login or sign-up as a new user.”
IV.2 How do I Log in…On the top of the upper-right section of the
Interactive Prayer System, there is a link that reads, “Click here to
login or sign-up as a new user.” Click on that link. A new window will
open in the middle of your screen asking for your User ID and Password.
Enter in the information and click on LOG-IN. That is all there is to it. IV.3 How do I get my password? I forgot it…Sometime it happens, we forget our passwords.
Thankfully, the Interactive Prayer System has a solution. Enter in your User
ID and click the “Forgot Password” button. It will display your
question, which you entered during your sign-up, on the screen. Type in your
answer into the textbox and click the submit button. If you answer correctly
you will receive an email to your provided email address giving you your
password. IV.4 How do I post a prayer request…Important rule of the Interactive Prayer System:
On the upper-right section of the Interactive Prayer
System is a link that reads, “Post a Prayer Request.” Clicking on that
link will open one of two possible windows. It will open the Login window if
you have not already logged into the system. If this happens, login and
click on the “Post Prayer Request” link again. The second window is the
Post a Prayer Request window. IV.4.a Choose Region of Prayer Request
The top part of the window displays your user ID along
with your region. The default value in the region box will be your personal
region, which you selected during the sign-up process: The only exception is
when you have used the sort function on the board to display a certain
region, in that case the default region in the prayer request will match
your sort region. IV.4.b Choose Category of Prayer Request
Below the Region is the Category. By default Category is set to general. The only exception is when you have used the sort function on the board to display a certain category, in that case the default category in the prayer request will match your sort category. It is a very good idea to take the time to find the right category for your prayer request. These requests can be sorted by both Region and Category, and are emailed to our members and intercesoors based on sort criteria as well. If you don’t take the time to properly categorize your request, your request won’t come up for the people who are interested in praying for you. Picking your category is fairly simple as all the categories follow a tree structure. On top level are:
[TOP of Page] IV.4.c Type Prayer Request
Once you have selected your region and category, type in your request in the request text area. Try to be succinct and to the point. Give enough information to get your point across, but try not to be long winded. People in general do not want to spend the time to read the whole back-story. What you type in here will become public knowledge, so I recommend not giving your personal information. Remember when people pray for this request, you will receive automatically an email to your supplied email address, so there is no need to put contact information. I would try to keep to a couple of sentences to a paragraph. It is also a good idea to add a statement of faith. Matthew 18:19 says, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. By giving what you believe for, we can agree with you, and activate the power of God in agreement. For example:
Once you have completely filled in all the information,
click the submit button and you are done. IV.5 How do I pray for a request…Once you find a request of interest that you wish to
pray for, the next step is to click the link “Pray for this request,”
which is located on the far right side of that particular request. If that
link is not there, then you are the one who posted the request, and the link
will read, “Post Answered Praise Report” or the requestor posted the
praise report for this request and there is no more need for prayer. IV.5.a Click on “Pray for this request”
Once you click the “Pray for this request” link a
new windows opens. Assuming you are logged in, it will be the Pray for a
Request window, else you need to log in first and click the “Pray for this
request” link again. IV.5.b Writing your prayer
The top part of this new window is the prayer request information. You will find the number, user, region, category, post date and time, and the request itself. The lower part of this window is where you type in your prayer. This prayer will be emailed to the requestor, so it is always a good idea to give an encouraging word. Since the power of God is in his Word, when you pray for a request find some scriptures which fit the situation. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” So as we send out God’s word, the sword of the spirit, it will accomplish and prosper in the thing whereto it was sent. Hopefully the requestor has made a statement of faith, which you can come in agreement with. Let the requesting member know that they are not alone, but we are standing with them in this time of need. Just like posting a request, it is not a good idea to put personal information in the prayer, as it will be publicly displayed and people will be able to read the prayer you have prayed. When you are finished, click the submit button and this
prayer will be emailed to the requestor and the counter to the number of
prayers prayed increased. IV.6 How do I display requests by region or category…On the upper-left section is a button that reads, “Sort Prayers.” Clicking on that button will open a small pop-up window. Roll your mouse over the “Sort by Region” or “Sort by Category.” Once your mouse is over the text line, a new pop-up window will appear. Notice how there is a small triangle arrow pointing to the right. This indicates, that there is a sub-window pop up attached to that text line. Once your mouse is over the final text line, click your mouse on that text-line, and you have changed your display. If you have made a selection already, the last selection will appear bold. The top pop-up has a line of text that reads, “Start
Over.” This line will change both the region and category back to “***
All ***” . IV.7 Which Regions can I choose from?Americas
Africa
[TOP of Page] IV.8 Which Categories can I choose from? This information is found in Section III.2.b V. PRAYER TIPSV.1 Pray LocallyCommit either yourself or even better together with a group of
intercessors to cover a certain area regularly in prayer - Example: You and
two friends, commit to pray each day for 15 minutes for the area of US Ohio,
you can enter prayer requests for this area, pray for all requests in this
area and lift the people up with personalized messages, develop your area,
make the Interactive Prayer System known in other churches and areas of your
state, connect with Intercessors around you in your area and develop a plan
who takes over which day, so that the whole month is covered in prayer, form
a group and let us know how you are organized (info@hispowerportal.com),
and connect with other prayer groups around the country. V.2 Pray TimelyCommit either yourself or even better together with a group of
intercessors to cover prayer requests from a certain day, eg.: Mona prays
for every prayer request posted on the 1st, George and Mary pray for every
prayer request posted on the 2nd, and so on… You can also pray for the
prayer requests at the end of the list, which will fall out the very next
day- remember prayer requests are only stored for 30 days, on the 31st day
they are automatically deleted- Pray therefore for the highest pages as they
will fall out first. V.3 Pray CategoriesCommit either yourself or even better together with a group of
intercessors to cover prayer requests from a certain category, eg.: Ron
prays for every prayer request posted for Great Commission, Linda and
Beverly pray for every prayer request posted for work related issues, and so
on… You can also pray for prayer
requests in a category and a certain region at the same time, e.g. Hans is
praying for prayer requests in Sudan that have to do with Hunger, Molly
prays for prayer requests from England in the category Witchcraft and
Occult,…. V.4 Pray with Holy InspirationCommit either yourself or even better together with a group of intercessors to cover prayer requests,
which as you read them, the Holy Spirit seems to impress on you to pray for
that person- Listen to the soft voice of the Holy Spirit and lift up and
build and encourage by sharing the Good News. V.5 Pray using ScriptureCommit either yourself or even better together with a group of
intercessors to cover the people who posted a request by encouraging them
using the Word of God in your prayer- Tip: In order that you do not have to
retype Scripture verses, use our
online bible tool to search for the scripture you are looking for and
copy and paste into your personalized message. V.6 Pray with your cell groupCommit either yourself or even better together with a group of intercessors to cover prayer requests
which were posted either in your area or for a specific political situation
in a country, print out the prayer requests from the Interactive Prayer
Board and take it to your next Cell Group Meeting, be the one who takes the
initiative- Mobilize Prayer! V.7 Pray regularlyCommit either yourself or even better together with
a group of intercessors to cover prayer requests regularly - Find your own
system of who covers what and when, but once installed and agreed on , keep
on Praying - it is the Lord's joy to see His people praying to Him,
worshipping Him and having faith, being united in prayer and He will answer
our prayers!
